ABOUT ANASTASIIA

Born in Siberia, Anastasiia moved to St. Petersburg, where she earned her MA in Architecture in 2014. Art has always been part of her life, staying with her as she lived in different places and cultures. Now based near New York, she moves between the energy of the city and the quiet life outside of it. Drawing the human body keeps her connected to people and the present, while painting is a way to work with memories that travel with her from place to place. Between what she sees and what she remembers, she is finding her own way into abstraction through line, color, and form.

“As a child, I loved spending time in my mother’s studio while she made dresses, or climbing apple trees outside. I think I’m still looking for that same feeling—being completely absorbed in a world of color, texture, and imagination.”
